Decontamination Assistant Technical Officer

Closing Date 19th November 2024 Reference KPHNW 24/11 ATO Kingsbridge Healthcare Group are currently seeking to fill the role of Decontamination Assistant Technical Officer within the Sterile Service Department, the successful candidate will be based at Kingsbridge Private Hospital Northwest.
Location: Kingsbridge Private Hospital, Church Hill House Main Street, Ballykelly Salary: £22,750 gross per annum based on 37.5hrs per week Department: Sterile Service Department Contract: Permanent Hours: 40hrs per week Mon-Sun (evenings /weekends /bank holidays) Responsible to: Decontamination Manager/Deputy Decontamination Manager Accountable to: Hospital Manager Job Summary You will work as part of sterile service team that decontaminate reusable medical equipment to make sure they are returned to the users in a sterile condition for reuse on patients in Theatres, Endoscopy, Wards, and Outpatients Department.
You will work in different areas of a decontamination unit including the washroom, packing room and sterilisation room.
The ideal candidate should combine a strong attention to detail with an ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure.
You should also be a reliable problem-solver and enjoy working in a fast paced, busy environment.
Key Duties & Responsibilities: Clean, inspect, assemble, pack, seal, label and sterilize instruments and equipment, including flexible endoscope.
Check all instrument for defects and if necessary, record for replacement or repair Recording and reporting any issues to Decontamination Technician Supervisors Assist with the daily testing of autoclaves to HTM 01-01 Part C requirement and daily testing of washer/disinfector to HTM 01-01 Part D requirements.
Handling and storage of raw material and comply with the detailed system which exists in the department and report and shortages to the Decontamination Technician Supervisor.
Become familiar with the barcode system for traceability.
Use the barcode I.T.
system to scan all Instrument trays and endoscopes in all areas of the Department.
Be familiar with and abide by Health & Safety regulations including COSHH.
Participate in mandatory training as required The above list is not exhaustive and additional / alternative tasks may be required from time to time as directed.
