Purpose of the role: We are looking to recruit a skilled and experienced DDP (dyadic developmental psychotherapy) therapist to join our team in Exeter.
The successful candidate will work with children and young people, providing assessments, therapeutic interventions, and support to address complex emotional and relational needs.
They will be involved with contributing to multi-disciplinary assessments as well as delivering DDP.
Reporting to: Clinical Director Responsibilities: · Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments for children and young people with a multi-disciplinary team.
· Develop and implement individualized therapy plans using DDP and other evidence-based approaches.
· Provide direct therapeutic services to children, young people, and their families, focusing on attachment and trauma-related issues.
· Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure a holistic and integrated approach to therapy.
· Monitor and evaluate client progress, adjusting therapy plans as necessary.
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and documentation · Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to case discussions.
· Provide training and support to families / caregivers to facilitate the application of therapeutic strategies at home.
· Stay current with best practices and advancements in DDP and related therapies.
Requirements · Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or equivalent (eg Social Work England) · Specialized training and certification in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP).
· Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children and young people in a clinical setting.
· Empathy and active listening skills essential for effective client engagement.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
· Commitment to ongoing professional development.
