Job Title: IoT Solutions Engineer Location: Mix of office-based/hybrid in Malton, North Yorkshire

Blackspot Networks supplies cutting-edge 4G/5G networks and satellite solutions across a diverse range of sectors including transport, construction, commercial properties and utilities for public and private sectors.
We also have extensive experience working with fleet operators and SME's in rural settings.
Our mission is to empower businesses with secure, efficient, and reliable telecommunication systems tailored to their unique needs.

We are looking for an IoT Solutions Engineer to support our growing team and work closely with the Managing Director on new and existing projects, while collaborating with the broader team.
The successful candidate will take ownership of technical projects from planning to execution, ensuring the delivery of top-tier solutions that align with Blackspot Networks' reputation for excellence.

Must have experience as a developer in Python, JavaScript, and SQL/NoSQL.
Strong understanding of data structures and their impact on performance and cost.
Proficiency with Linux and the ability to demonstrate this understanding.
Good understanding of computer networking, including subnets, routing, and network planning considerations, particularly in cloud environments.
Ability to take an idea from concept to deployment on a cloud-hosted platform.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team while taking the lead on technical projects when necessary.
Effective Planning and organising
Additional Desirable Qualities:
Experience with GCP, AWS, or other cloud platforms.
Experience in data engineering and analysis, with the ability to produce reports and derive insights from disparate data sources.
Programming experience with C/C++ and Golang.

Project Management:
Oversee ongoing IT and telecommunication projects, reporting directly to the Managing Director.
Participate in project planning, take ownership of Proof of Concepts implementation, regular maintenance, and diagnostics of internal networks and systems.
Prepare and deliver technical reports and documentation for devices, solutions and performance.
Coordinate effectively with R&D, Production and QA to ensure smooth project execution.
Quality Assurance & Maintenance:
Perform quality assurance tasks and deliver tested solutions.
Customer Support & Asset Management:
Manage IT assets, operating systems, and servers.
