We have two Data Scientist roles available.
NHS Resolution is a not-for-profit part of the NHS working for healthcare providers to resolve claims fairly and to share learning across the NHS and beyond.

Reporting to the Data Science Manager, the post holders will provide expertise in Data Science and analytical methods.
They will assist the data science team in the development of statistical and analytical best practices and apply these practices to complex NHSR datasets to deliver data insights.
The post holders will develop data science methodologies for ad-hoc analysis, insights work, and for highly complex prediction and statistical models.
You will also contribute to model testing and development activities performed by the data science team.

Act as an expert for the organisation on Data Science methods and analytical methods.Develop statistical and analytical best practices and apply the best practices to complex NHSR datasets to deliver data insights.Research and develop methodologies for the implementation of highly complex prediction and statistical models.Contribute to model testing and development activities performed by the data science team and contribute to deploying a data catalogue to create a consistent, managed pool of data assets.Contribute to the development of statistical, mathematical, and predictive modelling for highly complex issues such as claim value prediction.Aid in the design of machine learning models to identify risk patterns to drive intelligently NHSR activity such as scenario modelling around risk and payout.
Project length 3 years.Assist in granular analysis of each stage of the claims lifecycle to drive changes in the claim processing, improve training, improve data quality, and optimize NHSR resource allocation.About usNHS Resolution is an Arms Length Body of the Department of Health & Social Care.

Person SpecificationQualificationsEducated to master's degree level or equivalent relevant experience.ExperienceAbility to demonstrate significant experience within a similar area of work.Considerable experience of using machine learning algorithms (e.g., regression, classification, and NLP).Experience in at least one cloud platform (preferably Azure) and associated machine learning services, e.g., Azure ML.Skills and AbilitiesIn-depth specialist knowledge of statistical data analysis and hypothesis testing on highly complex datasets.Advanced level of Python, particularly in the development of machine learning applications.An understanding of software principles such as APIs, Git, DevOps, CI/CD, and MLOps.LocationWhat is your current location?
