Data Protection Officer - Remote

We have an exciting opportunity for a remote DPO consultant to join GRCI Law Limited, part of GRC International Group.
The role will undertake the duties of an outsourced DPO or data protection manager for our clients, and will be responsible for: Acting as an outsourced DPO / DPM for GRCI Law clients, providing data protection consultancy services; Conducting GDPR (and occasionally HIPAA) gap analyses using our proprietary RADAR tool (training will be given); Reviewing and advising on policies, procedures and documentation relating to the processing of personal data; Overseeing the establishment and maintenance of the Article 30 record of processing activities; Advising on the necessity of data protection impact assessments, how they are carried out and their outcomes; Providing guidance on data breach monitoring, management and reporting; Providing advice and guidance on responses to privacy rights requests from individuals (information, access, rectification, objection, erasure, data portability); Being the contact point for data protection authorities on all data protection issues; Facilitating GDPR awareness training and the training of staff involved in data processing operations; Providing DPO consultancy support, including providing training to other parts of the business as required; Contributing to GRCI Laws marketing programme, including writing articles and blogs; Attending conferences, web conferences and forums with regulators; and If qualified, undertaking contract and legal work relating to data privacy matters, including international data transfers in accordance with relevant legislation.
To be successful in this role, you will have: Experience working as a DPO; Competent in using Microsoft Office applications for reporting and document management; and A legal qualification (and associated data privacy experience).
It would be desirable if you had experience of regulatory, risk and compliance matters and a recognized DPO qualification (such as C-DPO / IAPP or equivalent).
This role is key in helping our clients deal with any legal and compliance issues arising from the GDPR (and related information security and cyber security laws and regulations).

Remuneration: £65,000 to £75,000, depending on experience Basis: Full time, permanent Location: Remote, with occasional travel to our Ely office and client sites.
