Data Governance Director Location: Remote (UK-based) Sector: Pharmaceuticals Company Information They are a mid-sized pharmaceutical company committed to delivering innovative solutions to improve patient outcomes.
They are looking for a skilled Data Governance Director to lead their efforts in ensuring data quality, security, and compliance across the organization.
The Role As the Data Governance Director , you will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing their data governance framework.
Change programmes and data governance will be at the heard of what you do.
You will work collaboratively with internal key stakeholders to ensure that the data management practices align with business goals and regulatory requirements.
This role combines strategic vision with hands-on operational responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities Develop and Implement Data Governance Strategies: Create and maintain data governance policies, standards, and best practices to support business objectives.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders across various departments to understand their data needs and ensure alignment with governance frameworks.
Operational Execution: Manage day-to-day data governance activities, including data quality assessments, risk management, and issue resolution.
Compliance Management: Ensure adherence to industry regulations such as GDPR and other relevant data protection laws.
Data Stewardship: Act as a champion for data stewardship, promoting a culture of accountability for data integrity.
Metrics and Reporting: Develop and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the effectiveness of data governance initiatives.
What They're Looking For Proven Expertise: Significant experience in data governance and change programmes, preferably within the pharmaceutical or healthcare sector.
Strategic and Operational Acumen: Ability to balance high-level strategic planning with hands-on operational tasks.
Strong Communicator: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR).
Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with data governance tools and frameworks.
Independent Contributor: Comfortable working independently with no direct line management responsibilities.
