We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Engineer to join our team. This position is pivotal to the delivery and continuous improvement of data-driven projects that empower data-driven decisions across the company.
This position is based in the Data & Analytics Team and answers to the Data & Analytics Manager. As a Data Engineer, you will develop, build, and maintain data pipelines, ensuring the availability and integrity of data across the business. You will collaborate with departments across the business to understand their needs, enhance data quality, and deliver actionable insights with the Digital team.
Responsibilities: Data Infrastructure & Pipeline Development Develop and maintain efficient and scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to support data integration from various sources. Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability by implementing robust data validation and monitoring frameworks. Collaborate with the Data & Analytics Team to design and optimise data storage solutions. Data Integration & Automation Automate data ingestion and transformation workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention. Implement best data architecture and governance practices, adhering to industry standards. Work closely with IT and third-party providers to ensure seamless data integration from diverse systems and platforms. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data pipelines, infrastructure, and performance. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement Work alongside stakeholders to understand data requirements and provide data-driven solutions that support strategic initiatives. Support the Data & Analytics Team in delivering insights and analytics to drive business decisions. Assist in the implementation and optimisation of business intelligence tools to empower data access across the company. Innovation & Continuous Improvement Stay updated with emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering and suggest improvements to our data ecosystem. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, applying best practices to improve data management and reporting. Requirements: Strong experience in a Data Engineering role or similar, with a strong background in data architecture and ETL pipeline development. Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, and Python and experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Snowflake). Solid understanding of data modelling, database management in ERP and CRM systems, and data warehousing concepts. Experience with business intelligence and data visualisation tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI) is desirable. Strong problem-solving skills and a safe, methodical approach. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
