This dynamic team is responsible for the full data estate, including data acquisition, management, governance, and innovative exploitation of high-quality data.

This is a hybrid role and you will be required to work on site in Brighton 6 days in a month.
The Role: As a Data Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping the future of the Azure data platform, supporting innovation and development.
You will work across a range of data storage and transformation technologies such as Azure SQL, Synapse, Datalake, CosmosDB, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Databricks, and PowerBI.
Using Agile methodologies and DevOps practices, you will help build scalable, modern data services and a mature data engineering function that delivers both operational and strategic value.

Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with business users and product owners to translate user stories into technical solutions.
Be a hands-on data engineer, developing and supporting the Azure Data Platform.
Build scalable and cost-efficient data solutions using Azure technologies, adhering to best practices and agile methodologies.
Stay updated on evolving technologies to ensure the platform remains current and cutting-edge.
Ensure adherence to data governance and compliance policies.
Support operational processes and implement monitoring and alerting to ensure platform reliability.
Essential Criteria: Strong understanding of cloud data platforms and data storage technologies (ideally Azure).
Proven hands-on experience in Data Engineering.
Excellent SQL skills, both functional and non-functional.
Experience with data integration and workflow tools (preferably Azure Data Factory).
Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
Experience with branch-based source control.
Desirable Criteria: Experience with Python, Spark, C#, or other relevant programming languages.
Knowledge of PowerBI, Business Objects, or similar tools.
