Job summary This post will support the Quality and Data team in the delivery ofquality, audit, risk and improvement requirements for the Hospice ensuringcompliance with regulatory, national and local legislation.
Main duties of the job The post holderwill take the lead role for the management, maintenance and development of clinicaland non-clinical IT data systems across Bury Hospice services.
Maintaining anddeveloping new data extracts and processes.
Providing routine data integrityand ensuring the production of accurate and timely data and information to meetthe hospice clinical, operational and HR needs.

Job description Job responsibilities Manageand provide statistical reporting information for all hospice needs bothinternally and externally for the Senior Leadership Team, Heads of Service, ICB,Hospice UK and other stakeholders.Manageand actively develop Hospice clinical and non-clinical IT informationsystems/platforms ensuring accurate and timely inputting and updating ofstatus, events and individual information.Providesystems support to colleagues utilising the iCare, staffcare, Vantage andBluestream software programmes.Manage,support and document IT related training for clinical systems, ensuring allstaff are competent to use the systems.
Configurebespoke update training packages where appropriate in liaison with clinicalmanagers.Ensureall staff have basic IT competence to enable them to conduct e-learningpackages.To supportin ensuring compliance with and submission of the IG Toolkit Developand maintain effective IT related policies / procedures and develop usermanuals to assist staff induction.Tomaintain overall responsibility for all systems which provide service userperformance management of the hospice and ensure robust information governancePro-activelyidentify data quality issues within existing clinical systems and highlight anyareas of concern with regard to the impact of data quality issues on theaccuracy of analytical reporting and undertake appropriate action to eliminatedata quality issues.Supportthe organisation to demonstrate organisational compliance with GDPR principles,implementing technical measures to protect information, maintain security andcompleting regular data protection impact assessments.Toreview, negotiate and provide feedback regarding Information SharingAgreements/data processing agreements for the customers base and between otherNHS organisations, Social Care and relevant agencies/organisations within theboundaries allowed by law.
Toensure procedures are in place for the efficient and effective provision ofinformation on all mandatory and internal reporting requirements.
Ensuring all mandatory reporting requirementsare submitted within the documented deadlines.
Toactively participate and support the Associate Director of Quality andCorporate services in the development, implementation and co-ordination ofperformance improvement initiatives.Toassist the Associate Director of Quality and Corporate services in theidentification of patient related outcomes and co-ordinate reports, activitiesand outcome reports to actively drive overall improvement and best practice.Tosupport the Associate Director of Quality and Corporate services to prepare anannual Quality Account.Tooversee service user experience feedback mechanisms (eg, I WantGreatCare.)
Ensuringthe collated information is prepared in a timely manner for Clinical GovernanceCommittee and stored electronically.Interpretand present key quality/audit data in a timely manner for the Senior LeadershipTeam.Tosupport the data elements relating to the compilation of the CQC submission.Toprovide in depth knowledge and expertise, and ongoing systems administrationand systems support for the e-Rostering/HR product Staff Care to users andWorkforce.
Tomaximise the benefits of the e-Rostering/HR system, facilitating the continualdevelopment and improvement of functionality and use of the system across theorganisation.Supportpayroll function with monthly extract functions from Staff Care, ensuringdata flow is comprehensive, timely and accurate.Provideongoing systems management for the hospice e-Rostering system, liaising withthe software supplier and support to resolve any ad hoc systems issues /problems and escalate these as appropriate.Toprovide day to day IT systems support and troubleshooting; identifying andanalysing problems and developing / communicating solutions.Tobe responsible for ensuring all aspects of system housekeeping, data integrityand security are managed.Manageand review system utilisation and error reports assessing risks and benefitsassociated with the systemManagesystem upgrades including assessment of functionality change, testing,communications, supplier liaison, implementation co-ordination and training anddeal with complex queries escalated from managers.
Workwith external providers and IT support to ensure interfaces between theclinical systems and any other relevant systems/devices are fully tested andoperating correctly following upgrades, new installations and routineservicing.Anyother duties commensurate with the post outlined in the job description.
Anychanges will be made with reasonable notice, taking into account thecircumstances of the Hospice and the post-holder.
Person Specification Qualifications Essential Relevant academic achievement with IT and / or data management (as appropriate) Experience Essential Practical experience of administration, data extrapolation, producing succinct reports in MS word and Excel.
Advanced IT skills including skills such as database management, document management and secure drives.
Experience working in a multiple disciplinary organisation.
Knowledge of IT systems within a healthcare setting.
Knowledge of proof-reading, understanding policy and procedures.
Desirable Some knowledge of risk management, clinical and corporate governance and its impact on the organisation.
Clear understanding of the national and local healthcare agenda.
Ability to interpret and apply national and local policy.
Demonstrable experience in managing risk.
Knowledge of project management.
