Join us and make it happen!The primary purpose of the Customs & Logistics Officer position is ensuring compliance with UK customs regulations, Compliance and Risk Management and Liaison with Authorities ResponsibilitiesWHAT YOU'LL DOAct as a guru in the field of HM customs & Revenue to help support the company with our legal obligations to customs proceduresAssist Finance team with the Duty deferment account queries and act as a go between for our dept./finance/HMRCNavigate and keep up to date with the latest HMRC requirementsTo Support the Team with Export/Import work to generate more revenue for the companyCompliance and Risk Management: Monitor changes in customs regulations, update internal processes, and conduct regular auditsLiaison with Authorities: Maintain communication with HMRC and relevant authorities, facilitate customs inspections, and resolve issues during clearanceNegotiation of freight costs and preparation of offers/tender responsesMaintaining positive customer relationships and promoting servicesPreparing accurate and competitive quotationsTimely creation and processing of invoicesSupporting DSCS colleagues in multiple locations QualificationsWHAT YOU'LL NEEDCustoms Qualification BIFA - BTECMin 5 years' experience in a customs clearance roleExcellent analytical skills and problem-solving capabilitiesIn-depth understanding of UK and international customs regulations, including tariff classification, valuation, and origin rules.Ability to run a logistics job completely independentGood negotiation skillsPositive attitude to workDemonstrable ability to working under pressure and to tight deadlines.Familiarity with customs software and electronic data interchange (EDI) systemsABOUT YOUYou will be able to meet changing priorites and business needs in a positive and flexible manner, as well as having the ability to understand, accept and enjoy cultural differences.
