Customer Service Specialist (Ocean) Felixstowe Salary: £30,000 - £32,000 (Dependent on experience) Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week, initially (9:00-17:30 during training, with possible adjustment to 7:00-15:30 after, shared hours with other team members) PERMANENT OPPORTUNITY Benefits: Internal training and development Pension scheme work upto 6 % matched employer contributions 28 days holiday (including bank holidays), increasing 1 day per year.

Role Overview: The main role and responsibilities of the Customer Service Specialist is to assist in the seamless coordination of Import / export cargo whilst ensuring the highest levels of customer service are provided at all times to partners and service providers.
The successful candidate will need to be able work individually as well as part of a team to problem customer issues.
Overseeing the entire delivery process: from understanding customer needs, booking transport, and coordinating payments to ensuring successful final delivery.
Monitoring rail and road deliveries daily, ensuring everything runs smoothly and that are completed on time.
Striving to maximise potential profits while maintaining customer satisfaction and addressing any accounting issues.
Handling queries and complaints efficiently and escalating unresolved issues to the department head.
Reporting any file that risks a loss or a significant profit reduction to the manager.
Documenting every step of the delivery process accurately for full transparency and accountability.
Ensuring that all company policy and procedure is followed at all times.
Technical Knowledge / Qualifications: Previous experience / knowledge of freight forwarding is advantageous Strong customer service skills / experience Is essential Excellent verbal and written communication skills Must be highly organised and able to prioritise workloads.
