Job Description Job Title: M&E Estimator
Location: Dartford, Kent

A leading M&E Contractor is currently looking for an M&E Estimator (mechanical bias) to join their expanding team in Dartford, Kent.
The company delivers refurbishment and fit-out projects across the London and Home Counties area, providing mechanical and electrical services to a wide range of clients and businesses, such as commercial offices, hospitals, schools, laboratories, retail, and high-end residential buildings. These projects are typically valued from £200k to £2M.
As the M&E Estimator, you will be preparing mechanical & electrical estimates of values up to £2 million, so previous experience is essential. They are ideally looking for someone with a mechanical bias and a strong understanding of electrical tenders.
The M&E Estimator will have the following responsibilities:
Close liaison with new and existing clients regarding any enquiries received and assigned, always representing the business in a professional manner. Preparing accurate and competitive M&E tenders. Manage the tender process from initial enquiry through to final submission. Attend site surveys or tender interviews as necessary. Evaluate supplier and sub-contract returns to ensure compliance with the tender specification. Maintaining and updating cost databases to reflect current market trends, material prices, and labour costs ensuring accuracy and competitiveness. Liaise with other departments regarding completion of all information as identified as required within the enquiry. Provide ongoing assistance to the projects team if requests for the generation of variation costs are received. Successful applicants will have the following qualifications and experience:
Experience within a similar position as M&E Estimator. Overall knowledge and understanding of a wide variety of mechanical and electrical systems and their installation methods. Confident communicator. Strong negotiation skills. The ability to work under pressure to meet set deadlines whilst managing multiple tenders. The ability to plan, co-ordinate and prioritise tenders.
