Job Description Architectural Technologist resource required to work for the lead engineer and CS&A RE for Building Envelope and Fire Category projects.
Scoping stages of building envelope projects are being delivered before going for detailed design. For the Scoping Stage, a standard list of deliverables and template documents have been produced including a PFS / Scope of Work document, CS&A Technical Specification, Study Report and General Arrangement drawings.
As part of the integrated team the Architectural resource will be key to identify requirements, options and technical solutions and to identify and manage risks.
Detailed Design stages of Building Envelope projects and Fire Category projects are being delivered, requirements are set out in the individual task orders and project scoping deliverables.
These generally including architectural GAs, Detailed Drawings, update to project Technical Specification, V&V Plan, Structural Calculations and CDM documentation.
The responsibilities for the Architectural Technologist will include: Production of GAs and CS&A Technical Specification and input to / production of the Study Report and PFS / Scope of Work during scoping stages.
Delivery of Architectural GAs, Detailed Drawings, technical technical coordination of specialist design subcontractors, Technical Specification and input in to project an CDM documentation during detailed design stages Liaison with stakeholders such as System Engineers, roofing / cladding suppliers, fire stopping and fire protection suppliers, other engineering disciplines within Sellafield and the supply chain, Construction Managers, Fire Safety, Fire Engineering, Protective Security Managers etc.
Site visits and inspections, and identification of defects and possible solutions.
Selection of an appropriate roofing / cladding / paint / fire stopping / protection system.
Review of contractor deliverables during detailed design and support to CS&A RE for acceptance.
Answering engineering queries during installation.
Qualifications Essential Experience & Qualifications Experience with and knowledge of roofing and cladding systems and specifications.
Experience with and knowledge of fire stopping and fire protection systems and specifications.
Experience with dealing with and managing stakeholders.
AutoCAD Proficient user of MS Office suite Desirable Experience & Qualifications / Additional information (e.g. Radiological Status Requirements) Experienced in delivering work for SL (preferred). Experience of reporting project progress (preferred) A strong understanding of the challenges faced working on asset care tasks in the nuclear sector (preferred).
Experience using Cimage and IcePAC (preferred) Additional Information **Security clearance** This role requires the successful candidate to hold a minimum of a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance.
