We now have exciting permanent opportunities for motivated and suitably qualified Cost Engineer to join our Technical Communities based in the South West of England.

Job Summary: Cost Engineers will provide cost analysis support to planning and scheduling teams for internal and client projects.
They will be responsible for managing and controlling the finances of projects or programmes using appropriate tools to analyse the performance of the schedule/plan.
Cost Engineers should report the cost performance of the plan to senior members of the team and communicate effectively with stakeholders responsible for delivering the plan to ensure that it is representative of current progress.
Responsibilities: Developing, managing and updating project and programme plans including full costing, development of WBSs, resource management, cost management of risk and critical path review, using appropriate software and tools.
Managing the change control as the project/programme scope changes, using the correct processes and updating the necessary configuration documentation.
Understanding the need for project baseline control and different types of baseline change.
Understanding the tools (e.g.
EVM) to assess project cost performance against the baseline schedule.
Understanding risk and opportunities and integrating the cost of these strategies effectively into the plan/schedule Understanding project control methodologies and processes for programme and project management Producing monthly reports Integrating with project estimates, schedules and performing the cost management requirements Knowledge & Skills: Understanding of cost management methodologies and techniques; Ability to understand and use cost management software; Understanding of earned value analysis; High level of analytical and numerical skills; Good attention to detail; High standard of interpersonal skills; Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Qualifications & Experience: Minimum of HND in Management, Economics, Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying or another related subject Project management qualifications e.g., APM Project management tools and techniques e.g., EVM Planning software: Primavera P6, MS Project.
