We are actively seeking people with skills and experience of working in a higher education project delivery environment.
We would also like to meet project professionals who have cost consultancy experience and would like to move into the sector.You'll be responsible for: Developing the cost management approach to setting up a pre-construction services contract (PCSA) for surveying and design deliverables Agreeing the PCSA fee Management of PCSA fee post contract to include cost assessment of variations, preparation of interim valuation recommendation and agreeing a recommendation of a final account for the client Overseeing and supporting the preparation of a bill of quantities for inclusion in a NEC ECC Option B contract.
Quantification of works in accordance with NRM 2.
Commercial review of contractor rates and pricing information to report to client on value for money.
Lead the site-based re-measurement of actual quantities during the construction phase of the NEC ECC Option B contract to include measuring alongside the contractor and agreeing final quantities Preparation of monthly payment assessments recommendations for the NEC ECC Option B contract to the project manager.
Assessment of cost for compensation events and recommendation to the project manager.
Agreeing a commercial closure recommendation for the contract to the project manager.
Providing any required estimating and cost planning activities to include taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan.
Being a key interface with client, stakeholders and other consultants at all project stages.
Handling of contractual frameworks and standard form of contract.
Identifying and acting upon opportunities to improve cost management procedures, templates, products and hence improve the services provided to the clients.
Identifying and acting upon ways to improve internal systems and processes.
You'll need to have: A degree in quantity surveying/cost management or equivalent along with previous experience in a cost consultancy practice in a similar role.
NEC cost management experience.
Cost planning, budgeting and estimating experience and have sound knowledge and ability to undertake and advise on contract administration.
Digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and lead strong, motivated teams.
Strong MS Excel skills.
Working towards MRICS.
Ability to effectively work alongside other parties involved in the delivery of construction contracts, for example different departments within the client organisation, planners, NEC supervisors and project managers.
