Corporate / M&A Lawyer

Details of the offer

If you are looking for a move that enables you to make some real progress in your career whilst also offering a total change of scene outside of the office, this opening with a top-tier offshore law firm could be for you.
Joining one of the leading corporate teams in Jersey you will be working with highly respected colleagues on a range of corporate, M&A, and capital markets transactions.
It is complex, interesting work that will afford you the opportunity, to take a lead on matters, hone your client management skills and contribute fully to business development.
In time, there is every opportunity to build your own network and progress through the ranks.

The Channel Islands For a city-based lawyer who thrives on big-ticket work but craves an escape from the rat race, few places compete with the Channel Islands, home to two of the world's premier offshore financial centres.
Jersey and Guernsey have strong and highly competitive legal sectors housing teams that number many alumni of the leading London or international outfits amongst their ranks.
They do complex blue-chip work, in a nice environment without the trappings of a big law firm culture.
Work-life balance tends to be good, leaving plenty of time to enjoy what is an enviable coastal lifestyle and London is only an hour away making it easy to get that city fix when (or if) you need it.

Process Interviews will take place by videoconference with start dates typically around 3-4 months later (depending on your notice period).
Our clients provide comprehensive assistance with visas (where required) and relocation.

Requirements You will be admitted in the UK or an equivalent Commonwealth jurisdiction and are likely to have at least 5 years' experience of handling high-value corporate/M&A work.
City and/or offshore experience is valued but not essential, and lawyers from good UK regional firms or international firms are encouraged to apply.
Strong technical and communication skills are a prerequisite.

Package Competitive salary (negotiable, depending on experience) with reduced tax rate (20%).
Benefits, bonus, and relocation package (flights + temporary accommodation on arrival + expenses allowance).

Origin Legal International Our team has 25 years' experience of helping lawyers to make international and offshore moves.
If you would like to find out more about this role or chat about an overseas move in general, please get in touch.
