About the Year in Industry: This is a new position specifically created for university students undertaking a 12-month placement, who will join our Conventional Safety Team. The role sits within our Environment, Safety & Health (ESH) Function who are responsible for implementing our Safety Management System and driving continuous environmental improvements across the business. The role will provide a diverse experience and will involve undertaking risk assessments to identify appropriate control measures, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation and driving safety improvements within the operational areas. The role offers the opportunity to work within the central ESH Team and alongside a deployed safety specialist who support specific delivery units within the business. As a Safety Specialist, you will be working alongside other safety professionals interfacing with facility operators and project managers as part of an integrated team. The role is designed to help you: Develop an understanding of our Management System and gain practical experience of implementation in operational areas, including projects and facilities. Gain experience of Risk Assessment and risk-based inspections in line with relevant legislation, industry standards and our policies, procedures and guidance. Gain practical experience in delivering safety initiatives. Gain experience in using relevant assessment tools. We will pay between 9% and 13% of your pensionable pay depending on your own contribution. Every second Friday off.
