Controls Engineer Technique Recruitment Solutions are working alongside a global machinery manufacturer based near Lowestoft who are seeking a Controls Engineer to develop, install and commission high level PLC, servo and HMI software including robotics and all necessary interfaces.
Primarily this will be using Rockwell control systems but experience with other systems will be considered an advantage.
This work will need to be undertaken at sites in the UK and customer sites worldwide.
Key Responsibilities/Activities: Produce, install and commission PLC and servo motion code to suit machine specifications.
Produce, install and commission Robot control code to suit machine specifications.
Produce, install and commission HMI code to suit machine specifications.
Work together with other engineering departments to get the equipment through the FAT and SAT processes.
Develop pragmatic and cost-effective strategies in response to client requirements.
Report problems and deficiencies in the design and brief.
Ensure projects are completed on time and to budget.
Maintain competitiveness by ensuring the software is produced within the timescale indicated.
Ensure technical co-ordination with all other internal and external disciplines.
Maintain files and records throughout the duration of the contract.
Suggest solutions to problems based on an understanding of relevant technologies.
Visit customers on a world-wide basis, as required to resolve problems and test machines/systems.
Background/Experience: Experience within an engineering-related position.
Experience in manufacturing/assembly environment.
Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques.
Working knowledge of Rockwell and Siemens control systems, 'C#, Visual Basic, PLC/HMI programming, servo drives and controls.
Experience in programming robotic systems.
Experience of coding and testing machines.
Educated to BSc level, or equivalent or proven capability in a relevant discipline.
Knowledge and experience of CDM regulations.
Knowledge and experience of CE technical files and UK/EU standards
