Control Systems Engineer (Beckhoff)

Summary of Role:Modification of an existing control systems held under support contracts and project work.
We are looking for an engineer with experience of using Beckhoff control systems.
Additional system technology includes Siemens PLC/SCADA.
This role is predominantly based at our office out of our customer site with remote working opportunities.Role Description: Development of PLC and/or SCADA system design and options from customer requirementsPLC programming of control systems and configuration of SCADA from developed or given designsInvolvement throughout whole software/systems lifecycle, from design through coding to testing, installation and configuration, and documentation (working throughout to full QA procedures) specifically production of design specifications and Test SpecificationsInstallation and configuration/testing work at customer sitesWorking within project team to customer deadlines Essential Requirements: Engineering / Computer related or appropriate engineering qualification (degree/HND) or comparable industrial experienceGood client facing skills, must be able to work as part of combined client/contractor teamExperience of producing design documentation and Test SpecificationsWillingness to travel and work away when requiredBeckhoff TwinCAT 3 PLC programming – IEC 61131-3 Structured text.Familiarity with Unit testing.Agile working methodology.Version control software (Git).Must be able to attain UK Security ClearanceDriving licence Desirable Requirements/experience: 3 years' experience expectation to fulfil requirements of this postKnowledge of project lifecyclePLC system design, coding, testing and commissioningSCADA system design, configuration and commissioningExperience of working in the Nuclear Industry Personal Qualities: Analytical thinking with a clear logical approach to problem solvingConfident and capable and able to work accurately under own initiative and within a team environmentAbility to learn quickly, understand client requirements and translate these into an effective solutionAbility to work well under pressure and to deadlinesHave good written and verbal communication skillsWillingness to own workstreamsBe flexible in working methodsSafe work ethic In return Capula offers the following benefits to permanent employees 25 days holiday plus bank holidaysFlexible workingPensionLife assurance policyPrivate health careLifestyle screeningSalary sacrifice programmeMental health assistance programmeCycle to work schemeGreen car schemeSupport in achieving professional engineer status (IEng, CEng) and professional memberships fees covered NOTE TO EMPLOYMENT AGENCIES: We are currently working with only our preferred suppliers.To express an interest in this position, simply apply below or you can e-mail with a cover letter and CV, quoting the job reference number.
