Based in Fire Control at Service HQ, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient management and integrity of the Control Data and systems function, reviewing and maintaining the data held in HIWFRS Fire Control Mobilising and Ancillary systems to deliver the required operational response, in the most effective and efficient manner.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Service (HIWFRS) operates within the NFSP (Networked Fire Services Partnership) to enable the effective and efficient delivery of many services to the communities of Hampshire and Isle of Wight.
Our Service is one of the busiest Fire and Rescue services in the UK, serving a population of nearly 2 million people.
We employ around 1,700 people, 85% of these are Firefighters, the remaining 15% is made up by support staff.
Control is crewed 24 hours per day, 365 days of the year, and uses a variety of systems to handle 999 emergency calls from the public, mobilise resources and manage emergency incidents.
It also uses a host of support systems that enable the efficient running of an emergency control room.
This role will be instrumental in supporting, configuring and maintaining those systems.
We are looking for an individual with passion for high quality systems management and delivery, keen attention to detail and a sound understanding of ICT, GDPR and databases.
Experience of SQL and systems administration are desirable, as is an understanding of emergency Fire Service operations.
Due to the system 'hands-on' nature of the role, it is office based, with little flexibility/hybrid working available.
