We publish up to twenty video stories per day on all social media platforms.
The job of the researcher is to support the producers and the rapid creation and delivery of our video news content.
The job of the researcher is to support our production team to create content that ensures PinkNews is at the forefront of the digital publishing and storytelling.
You'll work closely with the producers and wider production team to learn the process of journalistic video content creation in a fast-paced publishing environment.
With the opportunity to learn about social publishing, social analytics, video editing and social content creation (such as creating posts, scheduling content, and script writing).
Responsibilities Support the team's workflow by contributing to social media video edits by sourcing video/image assets, contributing story ideas and trending clips across our owned and operated platforms Create documents for stories where scripts may be requested One full edit episode per week, which includes but not limited to, writing the script, editing using Adobe Premiere Pro and uploading edit and title to CMS Using AI software such as ChatGPT or Bard to generate research docs for news stories and voice overs for scripts Be able to credit correctly and flag when videos are outside of our usage rights i.e external image agencies Research and assess the performance of our content to see if it would work well on international channels Coordinate multiple edits and assist in reversion of content for international channels Knowledge, skills and experience Ability to work independently to support the producers, being proactive and offering support as needed Basic understanding of Adobe Premiere Pro, experience a bonus Understanding of fair use and licensing of online content Experience or knowledge of Journalism A keen interest in LGBTQ+ culture, including pop, political and entertainment Native understanding of social platforms such as Snap, YouTube and TikTok Excellent organisation skills for folder management, asset collection and storage.
