Job summary CONSULTANT GENERALIST RADIOLOGIST WITH A SUBSPECIALITY INTERESTApplications are invited for a whole time Consultant Radiologist.
The successful candidate will provide imaging support to the Trust's busy sub specialty Imaging and General Radiology services and will join a team of 20 Radiologists working within the Trust.Based at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, however this is a Trust wide post and travel to other Trust sites may be required.

There are 2 acute hospitals sites at Wycombe and Stoke Mandeville as well as peripheral sites, the largest of which is situated in Amersham.
The world-renowned National Spinal Injury Centre is on the Stoke Mandeville Hospital and the Radiology Department provides a wide range of specialist imaging and interventional services to the Unit.

Job description Job responsibilities Main Duties of the Post Provide diagnostic and specialist cross sectional and general support to the Trust.Participate in the cross-site general on-call rota.Develop Radiology Services.Share General workload in the departmentDevelop a subspecialist interestContribute to registrar supervisionContribute to minor interventional work, urgent reporting and Duty radiologist sessions.
This is a 10 PA contract including one session for the on call commitment which attracts 1 PA.
On-call is currently 1 in 16.
There is on site commitment at weekends based at the Stoke site.
The post is likely to have at least SPAs.
One of the SPAs is flexible and may be off site.
Additional SPA is dependent on briefs held.
The Job Plan will reflect the needs of the Department and the skills of the successful candidate.
Duties allocated and timing of the session may vary and are subject to annual job planning and agreement with other Radiologists.
Person Specification Other Requirements Essential Full GMC Registration Ability to travel to and between sites Skills, Knowledge & Attributes Essential Good communication skills Ability to work as part of a team Ability to conduct an MDT Good IT Skills Good organisational skills Ability to perform image guided radiology including aspiration and drainage for on call and urgent cases.
Ability to undertake and organise audit of practice.
Knowledge related to governance in radiology including discrepancy review.
Qualifications/Training Essential FRCR Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via - CCT or CESR (CP) - proposed CCT/CESR (CP) date must be within 6 months of interview Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via - CESR or o European Community Rights (Substantive appointment only possible with full specialist register registration) Subspecialist Fellowship training Experience Essential Ability to perform screening assessment clinics independently Ability to run symptomatic breast clinics independently Ability to undertake breast interventional procedures including ultrasound and stereo biopsies and wire localisations.
Experience reporting general CT, MRI, ultrasound, fluoroscopy and plain film.
