EPUT is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Consultant Psychiatrist to join our South Uttlesford Adult Community team based at Western House, Stansted.
The team provides community services for patients referred to the secondary mental health services from GP surgeries within 2 PCN areas of North and South Uttlesford area, primarily in the South area.
The total population covered by the 2 PCN areas is approximately 90,000.
Main Duties of the JobThe Uttlesford area is part of the West Essex Integrated Care System.
PCN clinics are being developed in the locality and will replace the current system of referrals into a First Response Team.
Consultants are expected to provide consultative input to the PCN MHPs and direct patients into clinics when the threshold is met for secondary care input.
The post-holder is required to work independently and accountably as part of a team of clinicians offering Mental Health services, providing a 7-day-a-week, 24-hour-a-day service for 365 days a year.

Job ResponsibilitiesAttend CMHT and PCN MDT meetings to discuss and support ongoing care of patientsProvide regular clinics to review patients via CPA processProvide flexible emergency medical support for the team's patientsSupport patients under the MHA and the processes required under the MHASupport clinically and supervise your training doctorWork collaboratively with Primary CareLiaise with other services within and outside of the organization to optimize the care of your patientsPerson SpecificationTransportHolds and will use a valid UK driving licence OR provides evidence of proposed alternativeQualificationsMB BS or equivalent medical qualificationQualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research, or managementOn the Specialist Register with qualifications in General AdultPostgraduate degree in psychiatry MRC Psych or equivalentEligibilityFully registered with the GMC with a licence to practice at the time of appointmentIncluded on the GMC Specialist Register OR within six monthsApproved clinician status OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointmentApproved under S12 OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointmentIn good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practiceClinical Skills, Knowledge & ExperienceExcellent oral and written communication skills in EnglishAble to manage clinical complexity and uncertaintyDisclosure and Barring Service CheckThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and will require a submission for Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
