We have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our mental health team at HMP Stocken.
HMP Stocken is a category C training prison housing around 1056 patients, the majority of whom are aged between 21-40 years of age.
You will be working closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver support to adult males with complex mental health and trauma needs.

Main duties of the jobAs a Consultant Psychiatrist, your responsibilities will vary.
You will:
Provide excellent clinical care, assessment, and treatment to patients on the caseload onsite.Actively participate in the strategic direction of the mental health service, lead the senior mental health clinicians on service developments, and provide clinical supervision.Work within the multi-disciplinary team to review referrals, determine appropriate treatment plans, conduct risk assessments, and engage in multi-professional complex case reviews.If you are interested in career development, we have a wide range of opportunities for you to develop your skills and experience, which include both internal and external options for development and learning.

Qualifications requiredRegistered professional with current registration (GMC)Specialist Registration in either General Adult or Forensic PsychiatryApproved under section 12 (2) of the MHS 1983Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency workingUp-to-date knowledge in adult psychiatry and PDAwareness of current issues in mental health service provision, policy, and legislationSecure environments are one of the most challenging yet rewarding places for healthcare professionals to work.
