We are now seeking to recruit a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our City East CMHT on a full time or part time basis.

Main duties of the job We want a Consultant Psychiatrist who can: Deliver the highest quality of clinical care to our patients and carers.
The post holder will be required to work in partnership at both strategic and operational levels with relevant and external stakeholders.
The post holder will need to ensure that people who use services, carers and advocates are treated with respect and dignity.
Provide excellent clinical leadership and actively develop your team along with expert advice to our hospital and community specialists, managers and directors on what is needed to deliver excellent care and future strategic directions.
The Consultant has a continuing responsibility for the care of patients and for the proper functioning of the department.
The consultant will liaise with the General Practitioners, hospital and community specialists and other agencies wherever relevant.

Person Specification Qualifications GMC Registration GMC Licence to Practice Medical Qualification MRC Psych or equivalent Specialist Register (Subspecialty Old Age) CCT or equivalent Eligible for CCT or equivalent within 6 months of the interview date Additional Qualifications: Higher Degree Diploma Experience Clinical expertise in speciality/sub specialty: Appropriate training as defined by the relevant SAC of the Royal College of Psychiatrists Approved/eligible for approval for Section 12 of Mental Health Act Approved/eligible for approval for Approved Clinician status Awareness of research methods and understanding of application of research findings in service development Broad range of experience across relevant settings Experience as a researcher.
Publications in peer reviewed articles and/or chapters/books.
Supervision of research of others Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
