Mentus Recruitment are proudly working with a specialist private healthcare provider who are seeking an experienced Consultant in Adult Psychiatry to join their esteemed medical team.
This role is available for on a full time or part time permanent contract with an experienced and dedicated medical and multi-disciplinary team.
Full time permanent contract- 37.5 hours per week Part time permanent contract- 22.5- 30 hours per week About the Hospital The Hospital is an inpatient, psychiatric hospital with mental health beds across 4 wards.
The Hospital is able to offer a 24 hour acute admission service within a safe and secure environment.
Our registered hospital is dedicated to providing specialised care for men and women aged 18 and above, who are struggling with severe mental distress.
These individuals find themselves in situations where safe care within the community is not feasible.
Our acute inpatient services and PICU wards support people of working age who may be detained under section of the Mental Health Act or they may be admitted informally to ensure a seamless transition to ensure continuity of care and treatment.
About the Role: As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will play a pivotal role in providing person centred care to our inpatients.
Working collaboratively with our multi-disciplinary teams, you will typically manage a caseload of up to 16 patients, ensuring they receive comprehensive and effective mental health support.
In addition to your clinical responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to autonomously lead teaching sessions for junior doctors and staff.
Main Responsibilities of the Role: To manage adult inpatients with a variety of psychiatric diagnoses, some of whom will be detained under a section of the Mental Health Act (MHA).
To conduct assessments, request investigations and contribute to formulation of acutely unwell psychiatric inpatients.
To formulate treatment plans and oversee implementation and evaluation of these treatment plans.
To contribute to management of patient flow with a view to manage bed capacity effectively and avoid or flag up potential delayed transfers of care.
To comply with all legal obligations covering clinical practice e.g.
Mental Health Act and Code of Practice, safeguarding procedures.
To complete relevant paperwork, including maintaining records and participating in routine outcome monitoring of clinical work.
To supervise and help develop medical staff and other professionals in all aspects of psychiatric care.
To participate in MDT Meetings and other regular ward or team meetings including staff supervision.
To provide clinical and professional leadership within the post and take part in management activities and governance processes related to the post or the wider hospital.
As a senior clinician, to have an integral role in the performance of the team, further development of the service, and the development of the clinical pathways and priorities of the service.
Participate in remote, 2nd on call consultant rota.
Full time Junior Doctor support.
What We Offer: Competitive salary of £135,000- £145,000.
Payments can be made as PAYE or via LTD company on a service level agreement.
