Consultant Psychiatrist in Adult Mental Health (Acute Inpatient)Tees Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust There is a vacancy for a full-time (10PA) consultant post to work in Cedar Ward, a Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) based at West Park Hospital in Darlington.

Cedar Ward is one of two PICUs within the trust, taking referrals for patients based in the geographical areas of Durham, Darlington, Easington, Northallerton, and Harrogate.
Main duties of the job Cedar Ward is a 10 bedded in-patient unit that provides psychiatric intensive inpatient care to acutely unwell and disturbed clients, aged 16-65 years.
The unit includes a seclusion room, and clients generally have to be detained under the Mental Health Act prior to admission.
The service emphasises multidisciplinary team working, recognising that the complex clients it serves require efficient, effective, collaborative approaches to assessment, formulation, and treatment planning.
The unit is committed to Force Reduction drivers and enhancing the client experience of care, focusing on Positive Behavioural Support and therapeutic practices.
