This post provides Consultant leadership to Community Drug and alcohol Teams in Cynon and Merthyr.
It supports the Community Drug and Alcohol Team (CDAT) service for Merthyr and Cynon Valley areas.

Job responsibilities manage complex patients from core teams and the Primary Care Drug and Alcohol Service (PCDAS) identified by the Speciality doctor or nurses that re- quire intervention at consultant level provide supervision for the Speciality doctor and core trainee, and to a Specialist Registrar if the post holder is approved as trainer and an SpR is allocated to the team.
