Avocet ward is a 16-bedded male-only inpatient ward, and this post will require assessment and management of a wide range of psychiatric presentations.
RC/AC status and section 12 required for this role.
Main Duties of the JobThe ward takes direct new admissions of a range of presentations.
You will be supported in this role by a range of junior doctors (FY2 and GPVTS), and it is expected you will have regular dialogue with the two consultant psychiatrists on the other two adult inpatient wards onsite.
The Welland Centre is a modern standalone 4-ward psychiatric inpatient unit and is staffed by an MDT including nursing staff, occupational therapists, and psychologists.
Cross cover will be provided by both inpatient and outpatient consultant colleagues on a rotational basis as is the system currently.
