Job summary Applications are invited for a substantive Interventional Radiology Consultant post at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
This is a replacement post offering 10 programmed activities.
It is an exciting time to join our enthusiastic and dynamic Interventional Radiology team.
At MKUH we are embarking on an extensive redevelopment programme that includes the building of a new Scanning Centre and implementation of a CDC programme.
The Interventional Radiology team has an excellent record in maintaining and exceeding targets.
It is well known for its innovative approaches to delivering Interventional Radiology services and including patients in performance review.
The Interventional Radiology suite is situated in the main Imaging department and comprises two interventional rooms and one treatment room.
The main room is equipped with a GE Alia installed in 2023; the second room is equipped with a Canon Ultimax.
Both vascular and non-vascular examinations are undertaken within the department.
The post holder will be expected to take part in departmental audit and clinical governance issues, the general on-call rota, provide training and education to medical and other departmental staff as required and participate in multi-disciplinary team (MDT) meetings.
Main duties of the job The successful candidate will be expected to have experience in vascular intervention including endovascular management of peripheral arterial disease and a skill set of non-vascular interventions, including insertion of nephrostomy will be required.
The appointee will also have general duties in radiology and will be required to be committed to maintaining their standard of performance by keeping their knowledge and skills up to date.
The main base for this post will be Milton Keynes University Hospital but there may be a requirement to work at any other location where the Trust provides services such as community diagnostic centres.
