Job summary Applications are invited for a full-time ( WTE) Interventional Radiology (IR) Consultant to strengthen an established team of 7 Interventional Radiologists.
The successful candidate will have completed formal subspecialist fellowship training in Interventional Radiology and will have experience in a full complement of interventional procedures including endovascular aortic, peripheral vascular, embolization, urological and hepatobiliary interventions.
The appointee is expected to participate in Vascular and general IR procedures and will have clinic and MDT commitments as part of this role.
There is an expectation to support the diagnostic requirements of the department including cross-sectional imaging and biopsy post-holder will be required to join a 1:7 on-call rota covering the Dorset and Wiltshire network.
The post is based in Royal Bournemouth hospital but will involve pro-rata cross-site working at Salisbury District Hospital and/or Poole Hospital.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential FRCR or equivalent Full GMC registration and license to practice.
Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via CCST, CESR (CP) (proposed CCT/CESR date must be within 6 months of interview) 3 years equivalent IR training specialty training or currently in consultant IR position Desirable Additional degrees, diplomas or postgraduate thesis relevant to the specialty ( EBIR) Training in teaching skills 1-year additional training post CST ( IR Fellowship abroad or specialist UK centre) Experience Essential Evidence of a broad training in general radiology and cross-sectional imaging Competencies evidenced by procedural logbook with audited outcomes Desirable Previous Consultant level experience Demonstration of participation in service improvement and service development/innovation Clinical and Technical Skills and Competencies Essential Competent in a wide range of vascular and non-vascular Interventional Radiological procedures Ability to apply research outcomes to clinical and surgical problems.
