Consultant In Rheumatology

We have been assigned by one of the UK's more prestigious NHS Trusts to help them recruit a Consultant in Rheumatology on either a Substantive or an NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their successful Medicine department.

Our client is a multi-site acute and community Trust, based on the outskirts of London, which serves a population of more than 336,000 across the area; and a tertiary cancer centre, offering state of the art diagnostic and treatment services to a population of two million.
They have an amazing reputation with one of the lowest mortality rates in the country, and their ratings for medical care (including older people's care) have improved from 'good' to 'outstanding'.

The post holder will be expected to fulfil various duties within the department, including:
Provide a flexible and responsive Rheumatology service.Participate in the out-of-hours On-Call service for general medicine, currently a 1 in 16.Provide 5 general rheumatology clinics a week, and an injection clinic when necessary or a specialist interest clinic.Ensure adequate arrangements for hospital staff involved in the care of your patients to contact you when necessary.Develop and implement new ways of working in line with modernization principles.Take responsibility for professional supervision and management.Devote time to teaching, examination, and accreditation duties as required for junior medical staff.Participate in Clinical governance, audit, and research as appropriate.
