Main duties of the job Applications are welcome from candidates wishing to work full or part time in Rheumatology.
In the course of his/her work the job holder liaises with nursing, professional and technical, social work and administrative staff.An educational supervisor will be assigned to provide support.
Appraisal and Job Planning is carried out at regular intervals, and forwarded to the specialty lead.
The programme of training for each individual doctor will be flexible depending on his/her particular needs and stage of training.

Person Specification Education and Qualifications Essential oFull Registration with the General Medical Council.
oEntry on the GMC specialist register via relevant CCT, MRCP(UK) (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview), relevant CESR or European Community Rights Desirable oOther medical and non-medical training/degree Experience and Knowledge Essential oHigh level of clinical experience and competence in rheumatology oCompleted Higher Specialist Training (CCT) in rheumatology or evidence of equivalent competency.
oExcellent communication skills with patients, colleagues, managers and other staff oAbility to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients Desirable oA commitment to, and experience of teaching oAn interest in developing links with Primary Care Management and Admin Desirable oExperience of audit management Teaching Essential oExperience of, and commitment to teaching undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff.
