Job summary We are seeking to appoint a full-time Consultant in Rheumatology and General Medicine.
The appointee will work with consultant colleagues to provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services for residents across East Sussex with a catchment area of approximately 544,000.
This post is cross-site, based at EDGH with outreach clinics across community sites.We are looking for a Consultant to join the Department of Rheumatology in East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.
The appointee will be an individual with enthusiasm, strong self-motivation, and the skills necessary to contribute to the development of our patient-centered Rheumatology service.
Main duties of the job The post-holder will form part of a multi-disciplinary team approach to care within the speciality.
The appointee will take an active role in the Rheumatology service, with full participation in cross-county clinical activities in our community clinics.
The post will be based at the EDGH Hospital forming part of a multi-disciplinary team, working closely with colleagues cross site.
This includes regular audit, governance and outcome meetings with colleagues based at the Eastbourne District General Hospital.Conquest Hospital outpatient clinics and ward Rheumatology refferals also included in the job plan.

The applicant should be a holder of Certificate of Completion of Training or be within six months of the award of CCT by the date of the interview or the equivalent (CESR) which is at the time of applying, on the GMC Specialist Register.

Person Specification EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS Essential MRCP or equivalent Full Registration with the GMC and a Licence to Practice Desirable Higher degree EXPERIENCE & ATTAINMENTS Essential Expertise in Rheumatology and General Medicine.
Desirable Published Research Experience of supervising junior staff Experience of teaching clinical skills SKILLS/ABILITIES Essential Good command of English language (oral and written).
