The Jenny Lind Children's Hospital, Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) is seeking a substantive 8PA consultant in paediatric gastroenterology.
The successful appointee will help shape the developments of this well-established unit and the East of England paediatric Gastroenterology network.
The post comprises of 8PA (1.25 SPA and 6.75 PA of clinical work) in paediatric gastroenterology to deliver clinical services at NNUH as part of the East of England Paediatric Gastroenterology Network.
There is no commitment to acute paediatrics or to on call unless the applicant wishes to explore these options to create a 10PA contract.

Main duties of the job The successful applicant will work with colleagues in paediatric gastroenterology, paediatric medicine, surgery, and neonatology to provide gastroenterology and nutrition support to inpatients and outpatients in the Jenny Lind Children Hospital.
They will collaborate with colleagues at Cambridge University Hospitals (CUH) to develop closer clinical, research and training links, as lead centres within the regional paediatric gastroenterology network.
It is anticipated that with local and regional development and research opportunities the post may evolve and develop into a 10 PA Paediatric Gastroenterology post.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Full GMC MRCPCH or equivalent Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via: o CCT in paediatrics OR Equivalent (Proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of the interview).
Desirable Higher degree such as MD, MSc or PhD.
EPLS or APLS certification Experience Essential Applicants who are Nationals from another European country or elsewhere overseas would have to show equivalence to the 5 years training period in the National Health Service required for the specialty.
Demonstrable knowledge and commitment to a career in paediatric gastroenterology 2 years paediatric gastroenterology training or experience in a tertiary centre.
Competent at management of inpatients and outpatients with gastroenterological conditions Independently competent at upper and lower GI diagnostic endoscopy Training to level 3 safeguarding and experience of safeguarding at Specialist Registrar or Consultant Desirable Previous experience at consultant level Expertise in interventional endoscopy Experience of teaching endoscopy JAG certification Teaching Essential Experience of formal and on the job clinical teaching Enthusiasm to teach clinical skills Desirable Commitment to under/postgraduate and multidisciplinary teaching & training Recognised postgraduate course in teaching/training (T5 or similar) Post graduate qualification in teaching (PGCert or similar) Clinical Governance Essential Able to deliver high quality paediatric care Knowledge and experience of clinical audit Logical, analytical, and self-critical approach to clinical practice Desirable Expertise in Risk Management Interests Essential Commitment to delivering high quality consultant led care in paediatric gastroenterology.
