Job summary We are seeking an enthusiastic colleague to join our Consultant team in the provision of critical care and internal medicine.You will possess a certificate of completion of training (CCT) or a certificate of eligibility for specialist registration (CESR) or equivalent in the specialty of Internal Medicine and Intensive Care Medicine.
You will have significant experience of adult cardiothoracic intensive care, including heart and lung transplantation and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO).

Main duties of the job *Shared responsibility with other colleagues for critical care service provision.
*Participation in the critical care and ECMO on-call duties, up to 1:6, with prospective cover.
*Providing the clinical input to onboard suitable patients onto virtual wards.
This might include sessional activity in a medical or virtual ward in partner association.
*Training and clinical supervision of trainees and other health professionals.
*Participation in the research, audit and quality improvement activities of the hospital.
*Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the management of patients and compliance with clinical governance initiatives.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential *Registration with licence to practice on the GMC *CCT or equivalent in Intensive Care Medicine *CCT or equivalent in General (Internal) Medicine *Registered or Expected entry on the Specialist Register Desirable *FFICM or equivalent qualification in intensive care medicine (ICM) *Qualification in another specialty ( MRCP) *Higher Degree ( MSc, MD, PhD) Experience Essential *Training equivalent to that required for gaining UK CCT in Intensive Care Medicine *Training in Medicine and one of its subspeciality *12 months experience in adult cardiothoracic ICM *Experience in the transfer of the critically ill patient *Experience of management of patients on a virtual ward Desirable *Training in cardiothoracic ICM with the management of patients with heart failure, heart and lung transplantation and mechanical heart support devices.
