Consultant In Gastroenterologist In Ercp And Hepatobiliary Medicine

Details of the offer

We are seeking a Consultant Gastroenterologist with ERCP to join our expanding team in specialist Endoscopy and Hepato-biliary medicine.
The candidate will be working alongside two experienced consultant gastroenterologists with a specialist interest in ERCP/EUS as well as a team of skilled endoscopy nurses.

In 2021, The Grange University Hospital was opened, designed as an in-patient focused hospital.
Gastroenterology provides 4 in-patient ERCP lists a week and regular outpatient ERCP and EUS lists in Royal Gwent Hospital.

Our team looks forward to welcoming a candidate with a sound base in ERCP who is keen to put their skills to use in developing this expanding and forward-thinking service.
Our hepato-biliary team also performs EUS, with procedures including pancreatic cyst drainage, stent insertion, and spyglass ERCP in addition to routine diagnostic/therapeutic procedures.

Main duties of the job We are looking to appoint a Gastroenterologist/Hepatologist who is signed off for ERCP.
10 sessions will be split between ERCP (plus EUS and stent insertion depending on clinical skills) and outpatient clinics, with an aim to provide both specialist Hepatobiliary clinic and General Gastroenterology clinic.

The endoscopy unit in Royal Gwent Hospital operates 7 days a week, therefore this role will include 1 in 4 weekends, with general diagnostic endoscopy (not ERCP), with timetabled rest days during the week.

There will be no requirement for out of hours on call for GI bleeds.
