This is an exciting time for the Trust as we are on a journey to bring together all NHS community and mental health services provided in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, including services provided by Solent NHS Trust, Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, Isle of Wight NHS Trust, and Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust in what we call Project Fusion.
Main Duties of the Job This is an ideal post for a geriatrician who enjoys being hands-on and working closely with colleagues in primary, secondary, and intermediate care.
There are opportunities to get involved in admission prevention, virtual wards, proactive community services for older people living with frailty, advance care planning, and end-of-life care.
The environment within the hospital is ideal for older patients who need high-quality medical and nursing care but not intensive medical intervention or referral to more specialist services.
A particular strength is end-of-life care.

Person Specification Qualifications MBBS or equivalent MRCP or equivalent Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a licence to practice Entry on Specialist Register in Geriatric Medicine Holder of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Geriatric Medicine or within 12 months of award of CCT by date of interview Experience Ability to provide expert clinical opinion across a wide range of problems within General Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine Ability to take full and independent responsibility for the care of patients Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such, it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
