We are looking to recruit a new Consultant Gastroenterologist and we want to welcome another consultant to join our friendly, dynamic and enthusiastic team of Gastroenterologists based at Scarborough Hospital.
Main duties of the job We are looking for friendly, enthusiastic and dynamic individuals who will work well within our diverse and friendly team to develop inpatient and outpatient services.
In line with service provision discussions, there may be scope for additional programmed activities, which will be clarified during the recruitment process for potential candidates.
We welcome whole-time, part-time or job share applications and we are committed to supporting flexible job plans and will work with you to mutually agree your activity commitment.
We are also developing proposals to accommodate cross site working within the Trust in certain sub-specialties.
The post is offered as 10 programmed activities (PAs) over five days.
We are open to discuss any specific or specialised job plans that candidates may desire, including flexible/less than full time working.

Person SpecificationQualifications Hold a medical qualification Registered with and holds a licence to practice with the GMC Entry on the GMC Specialist Register in Respiratory Medicine or General Medicine via; -CCT (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview) - CESR or European Community Rights (within 6 months of completing a training programme recognised for the award of CCT or equivalent) Experience in Respiratory Medicine Substantive NHS experience MD or equivalent Higher Degree or evidence of relevant research Clinical practice/ competence Able to demonstrate a high level of Gastroenterology clinical experience and skill Commitment to Continuing Medical Education and the requirements of Clinical Governance and Audit Teaching & supervision Experience of teaching undergraduate and post graduate trainees Leadership Capable of building trust and confidence Able & willing to take on leadership roles Ability to organise and manage the department targets Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
