We are inviting applications for a Consultant Gastroenterologist to join our existing multidisciplinary team.NHS Highland has the only JAG accredited endoscopy unit in an acute site in Scotland, with the lowest endoscopy waiting times in Scotland.
We serve a population of around 350,000, dispersed through 40% of the land area of Scotland.
Our remote and rural geography informs the structure of our service.
We provide a comprehensive gastroenterology, hepatology and clinical nutrition service, using technological and collaborative solutions to deliver care in settings appropriate to patients' needs.
This post is based in Inverness, using NHS Near Me/ Attend Anywhere virtual conversation (developed with patients in Highland), Teams-based MDT discussion and traditional face-to-face clinics in a network of rural and community hospitals to serve our communities.
We are part of the North of Scotland Cancer Network, linking Highland, Grampian, Tayside and the Island health boards and actively take part in national audits and Scotland-wide initiatives such as the Scottish Autoimmune Liver Group and CfSD guideline working groups.
