Consultant - Clinical Radiologist Breast & GeneralWest Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS TrustThe successful candidate will undertake one stop clinics, general/mammography reporting and breast MRI reporting all with cross cover. They will also be expected to perform stereotactic biopsies and pre-operative localisations and image guided excision procedures (VAB). There is a weekly Breast MDT meeting attended by the whole breast team. Breast MRI is performed at Watford General Hospital and can be viewed on specialist workstations at St Albans City Hospital. Radiology trainees have recently joined the department and there is further input from the Radiology department in the teaching of both medical students and junior doctors in other clinical specialities - an enthusiasm for teaching would be advantageous for any applicant.
The position would involve a commitment to the AAU radiology rota. A dedicated 5-hour session per week is currently allocated to this with occasional additional filler sessions. On-call commitments will involve a 1 in 18 weekend rota with a requirement to be on site at the weekend/bank holidays between 08:30 and 15:30.
