We are seeking a Head of Psychology for our Older Adults Speciality.
You will lead the psychologists who work in Older Adults within the Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Division in the Health Board.
The speciality is part of a large and respected ABUHB psychology service, with approximately 300 psychological professionals working across the lifespan in learning disabilities, mental, and physical health settings.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job Within the Older Adult Directorate, you will be part of a well established psychology team, leading on psychological care for older adults in Gwent.
Working across the community and inpatient settings, there are opportunities for direct work with individuals and families, group work, consultation, supervision, teaching, service innovation and transformation, and co-production of new ways of working.
As head of speciality you will be responsible for professional leadership, and you will ensure effective supervision and CPD structures as well as leading recruitment and retention for psychological professionals.
Wider health board duties include service development and contributing a psychological perspective to key strategic priorities in the Health Board.
This requires the ability to build effective working relationships with staff in services other than your own clinical area.
