Job summary We are seeking to appoint a Consultant Clinical Psychologist/ Counselling Psychologist/ Psychological Therapist to lead the Adult Non-Psychosis Psychology Team in Northumberland.
This post would have responsibility for the Professional Leadership of all Psychology staff, and be an integral member of the Adult Leadership Team, driving service development and continuous improvements.
As a Consultant in the non-psychosis pathway in Community Services, you would be working closely with the Leadership Team and the Associate Director of Psychological Services for North Community to consider the development of the Psychology workforce in the context of Community Transformation and the NHS Long Term Plan.
You will be part of a dynamic network of psychologists, psychological therapists, mental health wellbeing practitioners and arts therapists in both pathways across the four teams in Northumberland.
Across the teams a range of therapies are offered including CBT, EMDR, IPT, Arts Therapies and low intensity interventions along with an on-line DBT programme.
There are also well-established links with tertiary services in Newcastle and University training courses.
As part of Community Transformation, we are also developing closer links with partner and voluntary sector organisations such as the Recovery College, NHS Talking Therapies, and Primary Care Mental Health Workers, amongst others.
Main duties of the job Professional Leadership in the non psychosis pathway across 4 dynamic community treatment teams in Northumberland, implementing CNTW psychological services strategy, contributing to Community Transformation and implementation of the Long Term plan which will include being part of workstreams and task and finish groups.
Supporting workforce strategy, training and development, the development of treatment pathways and services related to Trauma Informed Care, Complex Trauma, neurodiversity, and person-centred formulation.
Prioritising staff and team wellbeing and core values of compassionate, trauma informed leadership and practice.
Collaborating closely with Clinical Managers and local Teams Leads in the provision and development of services as well as being part of the North CBU Senior Leadership Team.
Specialist clinical supervision, scaffolding and contribution to complex case and strategy meetings.
Supporting skills development, training, audit and research across the pathways.
Supporting the provision of individual and group evidence-based interventions.
Clinical work within the Ashington CTT, integral part of the MDT, small caseload and the provision of specialist psychological therapy.
Part of the Trust Wide CTT Psychological Professional Head's Network for non psychosis and psychosis pathways and the North CBU Prof Heads.

Person Specification Education and Qualification Essential Doctoral level training in clinical/counselling psychology, including specifically models of psychological therapies, at least one distinct psychological therapy as accredited by the HCPC and British Psychological Society.
Qualification and accreditation in at least one evidence based psychological therapy Desirable Leadership training Knowledge and Experience Essential Extensive experience of working in adult secondary mental health services Extensive experience of providing specialist supervision Experience of leadership and strategic working Extensive experience of delivering training Desirable Previous Consultant level experience Experience of leading teams and collective leadership Skills and Competencies Essential Experience of involvement in training Well developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical and/or clinical sensitive information to clients, their family, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS.
Specialist teaching & training skills.
Evidence of continuing professional development as required by the HCPC Formal training in clinical supervision of trainee clinical psychologists and other staff Desirable Experience of leadership and transformation
