The successful candidate will work with colleagues in developing and expanding services at Salford.
It is expected that the successful applicant will possess a CCT in cardiology and a specialist interest in Cardiac Imaging, Heart Failure or both.
In addition, the successful candidate will work with the team in integrating cardiology services into the community and with the other hospitals within the NCA.
There will be opportunities for research, involvement in postgraduate and undergraduate education and quality improvement developments.
Main duties of the jobThis post is required to bolster service provision for General Cardiology, Cardiac Imaging and Heart Failure services.
The successful candidate will join a clinical team of 8 Consultant Cardiologists (1 LTFT colleague), 2 Specialist Registrars, 2 Clinical Fellows, 5 Advanced Clinical Practitioners and 5 Specialist Nurses (SNs all in the HF service).
Provide outpatient and inpatient general cardiology careTake part in a 1:8 COW rota and 1:8 OOH cardiology on callKeep up to date in cardiology and areas of specialist interestKeep up to date with mandatory training and ALSParticipate in job planning and appraisal annuallyParticipate in audit, M&M, CG and QITake part in undergraduate and postgraduate teachingProvide leadership and act as a role modelSupervision of the specialty grade Dr, specialty trainees, FY1 and CMT doctorsAbout usThe Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust (NCA) provides hospital and integrated health and social care services to over one million people living across Greater Manchester.
