825GF Configuration Engineer/Junior Mechancial Engineer Hinkley Point C, Somerset Contract, Full-time £45,000 PA Job Title: Configuration Engineer Job Purpose/Overview: To provide professional, high quality engineering support to the Hinkley Point C (HPC) Project on behalf of the Plant Integration Function of the Nuclear New Build (NNB) Engineering Directorate.
The role ensures the proposed design is compliant with UK regulations and context.
Key Responsibilities: Act as the preferred point of contact within HPC for configuration management processes, serving as the technical lead for Engineering Managers and Design Entities Coordinate contributions from HPC stakeholders to progress configuration management processes including resolving open points, managing design changes, and maintaining technical interface agreements Control, support, steer, and monitor end-to-end configuration activities across the project Participate in design handovers to NNB to ensure configuration control is maintained Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience: Degree in a relevant engineering or technical discipline, or equivalent experience Chartered Engineer status preferred Experience in the nuclear industry, especially in configuration management processes and quality arrangements for nuclear plant construction Strong understanding of engineering requirements, design processes, and power station design (EPR or NPP) Proficient in project management, organization, and coordination Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong working relationships Knowledge of budget and schedule management Salary, Hours and Location: £170 PAYE to £235 UMBRELLA 37 hours per week, Contract, Full-time Site-based at Hinkley Point C, Somerset, with potential for some remote working and occasional travel This is a critical role in ensuring the configuration and control of the HPC nuclear power plant design to support the timely and effective delivery of the overall project.
