We are looking for a Configuration Engineer for a 12 Month contract based in Bristol (Hybrid) on behalf of our globally respected client who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet's vital power needs.
Job description - Configuration Engineer As a Configuration Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the programme maintains control of its product definition data throughout its life-cycle through implementation of Configuration Management principles.
Configuration Management is the discipline through which a project provides assurance to its customers and governing authorities of product safety and integrity.
As a [] you will be responsible for: Manage product definition changes for assigned projects through the configuration processes.
Lead the planning and implementation of configuration management principles, business rules, processes and procedures.
Coordinate interaction between RR change process and external organisations including support of internal and external Configuration Audits.
Determine change track for each Problem Report.
Review change documents for process adherence, including quality checking of PCB presentations, and manage their further processing until closure.
Lead the change meetings and record decisions in the change management system (including agenda preparation and documenting minutes).
Coordinate selection of the change effectivity for modification packages.
Represent Rolls-Royce with partner companies in Configuration or Change process meetings, process working groups and Change Boards.
Collect and report change metrics according to the process and project requirements.
Provide support in response to business and customer configuration queries.
Where required, travel to consortium offices based in Europe.
Comply with Rolls-Royce Security and Export Control Policies.
What we require from the Configuration Engineer: Higher Education in Engineering (minimum BTEC/HNC or other equivalent).
Well organised and self-motivated with good interpersonal skills to be able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers and organisations.
Experience in a configuration position.
A broad product knowledge and experience of project and/or programme management.
The ability to deal with ambiguity.
IT literate with the ability to work within a range of IT systems.
