Job Overview: We are seeking a Composite Design Engineer to join a leading Motorsport and Formula 1 Manufacturer.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing composite structures and components for various applications.
This role demands a strong understanding of composite materials, excellent CAD skills (Catia V5), and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities: Composite Design and Development: Design and develop composite structures and components using CATIA V5.
Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and drawings for composite parts.
Conduct feasibility studies and design reviews to ensure optimal material utilization and performance.
Perform structural analysis and simulations to validate design integrity.
Optimise composite designs for weight, strength, and manufacturability.
Collaborate with analysis engineers to interpret results and refine designs.
Technical Documentation: Generate comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, assembly instructions, and test plans.
Maintain accurate records of design iterations, changes, and approvals.
Collaboration and Project Management: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and project management, to ensure seamless integration of composite designs.
Participate in project planning, timeline management, and milestone tracking.
Provide technical support and guidance to manufacturing teams during the production phase.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest advancements in composite materials and manufacturing techniques.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance design processes and methodologies.
Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
Master's degree or professional certifications in composites design is a plus.
Experience: Proficiency in using CATIA V5 for composite design is essential.
Experience with composite materials, manufacturing processes, and structural analysis.
