GSL Education are looking for Complex Needs Support Workers in Boston to provide essential support to children and young people with diverse needs.
Responsibilities of the Complex Needs Support Worker: Support children and young people with profound and multiple learning difficulties, severe learning difficulties, and complex medical needs.
Collaborate with families, medical professionals, and school leaders to create and implement personalised service plans for social, emotional, and developmental support.
Work with teachers, therapists, and specialists to effectively implement individualised education and care plans.
Assist class teachers in promoting sensory, speech, language, and communication development.
Manage classroom behaviour by recognising triggers and applying de-escalation techniques to maintain a positive environment.
Use specialised equipment and techniques to enhance students' learning and development.
Requirements of the Complex Needs Support Worker: Relevant qualifications in health and social care or a related field (e.g., Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care).
Experience working with children or young adults with complex needs in an educational or care setting.
Be a strong and engaging communicator.
Be compassionate and caring and have a genuine desire to help young people overcome their barriers.
Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
