Our amazing #TeamNewDeer are on the look out for new Complex Care Practitioners to join them on a part-time or full-time basis.
The RoleYou'll become part of a friendly, welcoming team who provide complex care and support to eight individuals who are all on the Autism spectrum.
There's never a dull moment at New Deer, no two days are ever the same and you'll always be kept on your toes!
In addition to working directly with individuals with complex care needs, you'll also work in partnership with a multi-disciplinary team and the individual's families and guardians to ensure each individual has a robust and outcome focused support plan.
You'll support individuals to manage their own homes, increase and maintain their independence and encourage and support them with their social, health and wellbeing needs.
The people we support all have different hobbies and interests too, so we'll need you to bring creativity and enthusiasm into supporting them to access leisure activities, engage in meaningful activities and take part in hobbies and interests that are important to them, both within their home and out in their local communities.About YouDue to the complex care needs within our service, we're looking for people who bring experience of providing care and support within the Health & Social Care sector with the ability to lone work and have confidence to manage behaviours that can challenge.
.We will also need you to bring a commitment to studying for and achieving an SVQ (SCQF level 7) and completing training and further qualifications which are identified as essential for our service.
We will fund and support you with any training and qualifications you'll need and we will even reimburse your yearly SSSC registration fees!To be a great Complex Care Practitioner, you'll need: -Previous experience of providing care and support to adults with learning disabilities and/or of working in a forensic serviceA solid understanding of professional boundaries, accountabilities and responsibilitiesA passion for delivering excellent person-led care and supportExcellent communication skills (verbal, listening and written)Numeracy skills to ensure accurate records are keptThe ability and confidence to deal with behaviours that can challengeA caring and professional attitude and approachA positive approach to learningConfidence in the use of computersShift PatternsWe provide dedicated around the clock support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so our shift patterns do involve early mornings, evenings, weekends, public holidays and sleepovers.
