Our esteemed client, a residential school in Berkshire catering to 240 profoundly deaf children, is expanding its team and seeking dedicated Care/Support Workers.
We have exciting opportunities for up to 4 permanent staff members, available on both a direct permanent basis and temporary-to-permanent contract.
As a Residential Support Worker you will be an integral part of a compassionate community, supporting the diverse needs of young residents during term time.
This role involves working 8-hour shifts in residential houses, fostering positive relationships, and contributing to the safe, secure, and stimulating environment that aids in the students' learning and development.
Responsibilities :
Cultivate positive relationships with young individuals, even in challenging circumstances.
Collaborate with the team to create a safe, secure, and stimulating environment.
Support the learning and development of students, preparing them for the next stages of their lives.
Share the responsibility of safeguarding, nurturing, and educating pupils.
Requirements :
Compassionate and dedicated individuals with a passion for supporting young people.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Flexibility to work shifts, including day shifts, night shifts, and sleep-ins.
No prior knowledge of sign language required; the school follows an auditory/oral philosophy.
